All shooters at the Lippold Center and any other Auroraland Archers venue must sign a new waiver every year BEFORE being allowed to participate. This is required in order to meet the obligations to our insurance provider. The waiver book is kept on the counter. This requirement applies to EVERY SHOOTER, not just club members.

February Club Meeting

Our next meeting will be Thursday, February 7 at 7:30 at Lippold Center on Route 25 in Batavia.

February Club Shoot

Our February Club shoot will be Sunday, February 3 from 8 – 2. It will be our annual Jim Bailey 3-D Team Shoot.



ITAA Indoor State Tournament

Chicagoland JOAD will be hosting the ITAA State Indoor Championships at ALA on Feb 9, 2008 Tournament info and registration is online at their website: www.chicagolandjoad.org. Space is limited so preregister early.

IAA State 600 Qualifier
There were 31 Shooters that participated but you’ll have to ask Dale Dobbbins for the results.

Winter 300 League
Winter League has started with 23 shooters spread across 4 teams that will shoot for 9 weeks. As a reminder, league cost is $30 for adult or $15 for a child under 12 years of age if it is paid in full by Feb 22. If not paid by in full by then, the costs will be $39 and $19.50 respectively. New Range Captain Appointment

With Beth Stehlin having moved to Wyoming we need to thank her for past service. We wish her & Bob well and know that they will be missed at ALA. Dave Bray has accepted an appointment to that position or the rest of the term.

Meat Donations needed

Keep the date of March 15 open for the Wild Game Dinner H’ors D at 5:30 Dinner at 6 pm. As always meat donations are needed, especially Duck Rabbit, Squirrel and Pheasant. Contact Mike Hamburg or Bill Balt.

Monday Bowhunter League

Monday night 3D has begun. Start time is 7:30. Contact Dave Shumway.

Level 2 Instructor Training

A Level 2 Instructor training class will be held in early 2008. If interested, contact Russ Kunes at (630) 699-8940. This 2 day training will be held on a Saturday and Sunday.

Practice Fees

Practice Fees for ALA Members at Lippold center are currently:
$1.00 for paper targets ($0.50 if prepaid in league)
$1.00 for white broadhead block – NO field points on this target)
$5.00 for non club members
NOTE – Broadheads MUST NOT be shot at 3D animal targets or at the wall.

Freeman Round Clarification

The Freeman Round (March) will have a single line time of 10:00 AM so all shooters must be ready to begin at that time. It consists of 3 ends at 10 yards, 4 ends at 15 yards, and 5 ends at 20 yards, with 5 arrows per end.

December “TOYS FOR TOTS” Results

Many thanks to the 15 club & non-club members who brought toys in for this worthy cause. And special thanks to Dale Dobbins and Russ Kunes who respectively managed registration and the kitchen each day.

January Club Meeting

Our next meeting will be Thursday, January 3 at 7:30 at Lippold Center on Route 25 in Batavia.

Our January Club shoot will be Sunday, January 6 from 8 – 2. It will be a 501 Dart game.

IAA State 600 Qualifier

ALA will host an IAA State Qualifier 600 Round on Jan. 12 & 13. Pre-registration is requested to ensure you a line position. Line times will be 9:00 and 1:00. Cost is $5 for Cub & Youth, $10 for Adult & Young Adult, or $20 maximum per Family. To pre-register, contact Dale Dobbins at (630) 464-6845.

Winter 300 League

Our winter league will be a 300 round. Three qualifier scores must be turned in by January 14. Actual competition will begin January 23. If paid in full by Feb 22, total cost will be $30 for an adult or $15 for a child under 12 years of age. If not paid by in full by then, the costs will be $39 and $19.50 respectively. By-Law Addition Approved by Board

The following By-Law addition, proposed by Russell Kunes, has been approved by the ALA Board

In the instance that Aurorland Archers, in the November club meeting, do not have a quorum, so the club is not capable of getting Nominations for the new board, and the Nominating Committee has a slate to present, then the Board in office at the time can approve the slate. Then the slate can be presented in the Newsletter and then voted on at the next meeting that there is a quorum at.

Our Fall 450 League is now over. Results will be announced at our Annual Banquet in April.

Outdoors Web Site

The web site MyHuntingRoom.com, is an online network for avid outdoorsmen. The site is free and was put together because of a love for hunting and fishing along with the desire for this way of life to be around for our children and grandchildren. With nearly 1,600 members in 6 months this site is quickly becoming the largest social network for hunters, anglers, and outdoorsmen. Both personal and club profiles may be created, and club events may be posted there as well.
