*** 2007 WAIVER REQUIRED ***

All shooters at the Lippold Center and any other Auroraland Archers venue must sign a new waiver every year BEFORE being allowed to participate. This is required in order to meet the obligations to our insurance provider. The waiver book is kept on the counter. This requirement applies to EVERY SHOOTER, not just club members.

July Club Shoot participation

Thanks to David Bray, Dave Mirowski, Dave Shumway, Jason Wesbrock & Ray Hatfield who all participated in the 501 DART face shoot.

August Club Meeting

Our next meeting will be Thursday, August 2 at 7:30 at Lippold Center on Route 25 in Batavia. Please join us, as we could not hold meetings in June & July because of insufficient attendance.

Club Championship – August 5

The second half of our Club Championship will be an indoor 300 round on August 5. Cost is $8 but it will be free if you shot the 3D portion in June. Registration will be 8AM – 12 noon.

Club Picnic – August 5

Our annual club picnic will begin at 1:00 PM on Sunday August 5. There will be no charge for this event, as food will be provided by the club. Although it isn’t required, please RSVP to either Kami Kiss or Ray Hatfield if you plan to attend so we can get a rough idea of how much food to purchase. Please make plans to attend.

Monday 3D

Start time for Monday night 3D is roughly 7:30. Cost is $6 per night. Contact - Dave Shumway.

Possible Bowhunter Safety Course

We are thinking about offering a Bowhunter Safety Course. More information should be available at our July club meeting. Please plan on attending to learn more.

Possible Level 2 Instructor Training

Interest in Level 2 Instructor training is being gathered. If you might like to participate (no dates yet) please call Russ Kunes on his cell (630) 699-8940.
Archery Open House – DuPage County

An Open House promoting Archery was hosted by the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County on July 14 at the Blackwell Archery Range. A total of 191 shooters registered at that event, with a good mix of children and adults taking advantage of the free instruction.

ALA members Dale Dobbins, Mike Hamburg, David Bray & Ray Hatfield hosted a booth promoting our club. In addition, Sandy & Gary Awalt hosted a NIHF Days booth.

The winners of our Free Membership Drawing were Ana & Bob Willoughby of Woodridge. The winners of our Free Pass at any Monthly Club Shoot were Mark & Lisa Williams, also of Woodridge. Congratulations.

The Forest Preserve District has expressed their thanks to ALA for participating in this annual event. They will also keep us informed as plans move ahead to expand their archery facilities. Although exact plans and money are not in place, improvements high on the list would be to improve the existing 90 meter range, build a much shorter instructional range, and build a 2D/3D type of range. Additional details will be shared as they become available.
