***Waiver REQUIRED to Shoot***

ALL Shooters at the Lippold Center must sign a new waiver every year. This is required in order to meet the obligations to our insurance provider. You will find the waiver book setting on the counter. This requirement applies to ALL SHOOTERS, Not Just Club Members!!!

Web Site Reactivated

Our Club website is back up and operational, thanks to Jason Conn! Please check it out and see if you'd like anything added. All questions and comments should go directly to Jason.

Monthly Club Meeting

Our next meeting will be Thursday, November 2 at 7:30 at Lippold Center on Route 25 in Batavia. Please join us!

Free NFAA/NAA Membership

At each club meeting, a free NFAA or NAA membership is awarded to a club member(non-Officer or Board Member). There was no winner in October, as there was insufficient membership present to hold a meeting.

Tuesday Nights

Effective immediately, Tuesdays will no longer be an Open Shoot evening because of lack of participation that night. This will continue through Fall League, and until further notice.

November Club Shoot

The November 5 shoot will be an indoor 600 Round at Lippold Center. Registration will be 8:00-1:00.

Fall 450 League

Fall League has begun with 15 people and 3 ghosts. Please turn your $30 in to Dale Dobbins by November 6 or the price will jump to $39!

Arkie Hall - TOYS FOR TOTS - Memorial Shoot

Our annual Arkie Hall TOYS FOR TOTS Memorial Shoot will be the first weekend in December as follows:
Saturday, December 2 - 300 Round
Sunday, December 3 - 3D Animal Round
Admission each day will be 1 Unisex Toy of $10 or more. Shooting will be from 8:00 am - 2:00pm. These toys will be given to needy children in Aurora.

Since there were no meetings in September and October, election nominations were requested via email and with the slate being presented to the board on October 24. Nominations are:

Dart Board Shoot

Plan to start your New Year with a new experience! Our January Club Shoot will be on a Dart Board Face (FITA/NFAA target) and there may be another surprise or two! Stay Tuned....

Participation Award to be Given

Beginning with November Club Shoot, every time you participate in a monthly club shoot you will earn 1 ticket to be thrown into a drawing at annual Club Awards Banquet. This will reward someone for their monthly support of ALA, with your odds of winning increasing each time you shoot, and it will not matter how wel you shoot. You must be a member in good standing to earn these tickets.

Winter 300 League

It's time to start planning for our 300 Round Winter League. 3 Qualifiers may be shot Dec 19 - Jan 11, with actual League scoring to begin Jan 16 and end March 23. Contact Dale Dobbins.

Broadhead Target Reminder

Bowhunters, as noted below in the Practice Fees section, please remember that we have a block broadhead target to help you get sighted in for the upcoming season. Cost is $1 DO NOT use field points on this target and DO NOT shoot broadheads at either the target wall or any of the 3D targets.

Practice Fees

Practice fees at Lippold Center are currently:
$1.00 for paper targets ($.50 if in league)
$1.00 for broadhead target (white Block only - Do Not use field points on this target)
NOTE - Broadheads MUST NOT be shot at 3D animal targets or at the wall.

Monday 3D

Monday night 3D is being suspended until January. It will begin roughly when our winter 300 League begins.

Outdoor Shooting

Outdoor shooting is available at Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville. Blackwell is located on the North side of Butterfield Road between Batavia and Winfield Roads ( about 1 mile East of Route 59). There are about a dozen large round targets typically set between 20 and 80 yards. Field points only, and bring your own target face.

Parking and Lawn

Please remember to NOT drive on the grass at Lippold Center!!

Tenant Reminder

Please be sensitive to the fact that a tenant is now living upstairs at the Lippold Center. Lets all be good-downstairs-neighbors.

***New Webmaster***

ALA now has a new Webmaster, Jason Conn. Jason wil be reviving our web site, plus maintaining it. More details will be provided when they become available. THANK YOU, Jason, for taking on this vital role, and also WELCOME to ALA.

***Correspondence Secretary Needed***

The office of Correspondence Secretary is still vacant. If you can take over this role, please contact Russ Kunes.

October 1 Club Shoot

The October 1 shoot will be an indoor 450 Round at Lippold Center. Registration will be from 8:00 - 1:00. This score may be used as a score for the Fall 450 League.
A 450 Round uses the multi-colored face, at which 15 ends of 3 arrows each are shot from 20 yards. The highest score per arrow is 10 points.

Fall 450 League

REMINDER- ALL 3 qualifying scores must be turned in by September 29. Fall League will run for 10 weeks, from October3 through December 8. Teams will be assigned based on Qualification Scores. Cost is $3.00 per session, including the 3 qualifying sessions for a total of $39. If however you pay in full by November 6, the total cost will be only $30. Contact Dale Dobbins to join this League and view the monthly calendar to see open shooting times.

Upcoming Elections

Since there was no meeting in September, our yearly election process will begin at our October meeting. At that time we'll be looking for volunteers for the nominating Committee. Duties include preparing the slate of candidates for the December Elections. That slate must be presented to the Board prior to the November 2 General Meeting. The Chair of this Committee is Ray Hatfield. Please Consider being on this committee.

Saturday, October 21 -- NAA style 600 rd (no dress code enforced). First line: 8 am practice - scoring at 9:00 am. The second line: practice at 12pm - 1 pm scoring. Space is limited to 20 shooters per line. Awards will be given. Fees are $10.00 per shooter with a maximum of $25.00 per family.
