All shooters at the Lippold Center and any other Auroraland Archers venue must sign a new waiver every year BEFORE being allowed to participate. This is required in order to meet the obligations to our insurance provider. The waiver book is kept on SHOOTER, not just club members.
February Club Meeting
Our next meeting will be Thursday, Feb 5th at 7:30 at Lippold Center on Route 25 in Batavia.
Award Nominations Sought
Now is the time of the year that Nominations for the Annual Service Awards are being sought by the Board. The Awards are as follows.
Dave Treest Award, Outstanding Club Member.
Rollie Mantzke Award, To the Outstanding Cub or Youth Member.
John Lippold Award, For Outstanding Service, to a Non-Shooter
The qualifications for the service awards are as follows:

Stephanie Miller makes 2009 U.S. World Indoor Team
Auroraland Archers club member and Chicagoland JOAD alumni Stephanie Miller competed at the 2009 U.S. World Indoor Team Trials that were held in Dubuque, Iowa on Jan. 3-4. After the morning qualifying round of 60 arrows that cut the field to the top 8 in the women’s recurve division, Stephanie qualified in 1st place with a 16 point lead. Later that evening and the following day after shooting a total of 15 12-arrow round robin matches and winning every one of her matches, Stephanie won the trials event in her division with a 45 point lead.
Stephanie was one of 24 archers named to the 2009 U.S. World Indoor Team, including Seniors and Juniors, that will compete in Rzeszow, Poland in March. For complete results, go to www.dubuquefieldarchers.com under NAA World Trials.
1st Publication of Constitution Changes
Ray Hatfield read proposed updates and changes to the Constitution, as developed by Karen Larsen, Dale Dobbins, Mike Hamburg & Ray Hatfield. The Board agreed to all those changes, plus a couple of minor tweaks, and a MOTION to accept them was made by Kami Kiss and seconded by Terry Bennett. PASSED. Mike Hamburg will put the updates approved by the Board into the next 2 newsletters, and they will then be presented at the following General Meeting, where they will be discussed and voted upon by the club. Any changes passed at that time will be incorporated into a new official Constitution document.
Constitution changes approved by the Board, for submission to the Club, are:
Article V, 2nd sentence – remove reference to Tournament & Range Manager
Article V, C - remove reference to Tournament & Range Manager
Article V, E – remove Ghost Walk and BowHunter National Chairman. Add Wild Game Dinner Committee, Raffle & Prize Committee, Nominating committee, and Northern Illinois Hunting & Fishing Days committee. Also, delete sentence about Bowhunter National Chairman, etc, immediately following item E.
Article VI,1 - remove reference to Tournament & Range Manager
Article VI, 4 – remove entire statement, as it pertains to Tournament & Range Manager
Article VII, 1 - remove reference to Tournament & Range Manager
Article VII, OFFICERS, 2 – remove the words “Range Captain” from within the parenthesis, thereby clarifying that it is a 2-year position.
Article VII, ELECTIONS, 1 – modify the first sentence to begin as “The Nominating Committee Chairman shall appoint nominating committee members prior to . . .”
Article VII, ELECTIONS, 2 – modify the 2nd sentence to begin “Two adult members of each family must be . . .”
Article VIII, 1, 2D, 4, 8 – remove the references to the “Park District” from these 4 statements
Article IX,1, 2, 3 - remove the references to the “Park District” from these 3 statements
Article X, 2, 3 - remove the references to the “Park District” from these 2 statements
Article XIV, B, 1 – remove the words “except for the operation of Corresponding Secretary,”

Practice Fees
Practice Fees for ALA Members at Lippold center are currently:
$1.00 for paper targets ($0.50 if prepaid in league)
$1.00 for white broadhead block – NO field points on this target)
$5.00 for non club members
NOTE – Broadheads MUST NOT be shot at 3D animal targets or at the wall.
