*** 2007 WAIVER REQUIRED ***

All shooters at the Lippold Center and any other Auroraland Archers venue must sign a new waiver every year BEFORE being allowed to participate. This is required in order to meet the obligations to our insurance provider. The waiver book is kept on the counter. This requirement applies to EVERY SHOOTER, not just club members.

October Club Meeting

Our next meeting will be Thursday, October 4 at 7:30 at Lippold Center on Route 25 in Batavia.

October Club Shoot

The club shoot on Sunday Oct. 7 will be on a DART face. Please come out and join the fun.

Club Elections Process Begins

The process for our annual Officer & Board Member elections could not begin at our September meeting since we did not have a quorum. The schedule for that process is:

Sept. mtg – Form nominating committee
Oct. mtg – Announce upcoming offices
Oct/Nov – Present slate to Board
Nov. mtg – Present slate at general club meeting
Dec. mtg – Hold elections

The following positions are up for election: Vice President, Correspondence Secretary, Registration Chairman, 2-year Board (1 position) and 1-year Board (4 positions).

Results from NIHFD

There were 40 shooters on the 3D course and a lot of shooters on the kids range.

ALA presented a free membership to 12 year old Alex Nagy of Aurora. Alex was also presented with a custom-made bow that has a prosthetic sleeve to let him enjoy the sport. Welcome to ALA Alex

Thank you to everyone who helped out at NIHFD. Especially noteworthy were:
Becky Stout & Carol Mirowski who ran the kitchen.
Dave Mirowski, Priest Walker, Michele Augustyn, and Harvey Stout who did a great job with the kids range.
Mike Hamburg who took the whole 3D course down.

Illinois Senior Olympian

Tom Havel participated in the Sept. 22 Illinois Senior Olympics in Springfield and took the gold. Especially noteworthy was that Tom set a new state record for his age group by shooting a 792 in an American 900 Round (30 arrows each at 60, 50, & 40 yds). Congratulations Tom!

ALA Fall League

Fall League will be a 450 Round on the multi-colored 40 cm target face. All 3 qualifying scores must be in-the-box by Tuesday, Oct. 2. Our 10 week league starts Tuesday Oct 9. Cost is $30 if paid in full by Tuesday, Nov. 13, for the 3 qualifiers and 10 competitive scores. If your money is not in Dale Dobbins hands by then, the cost will be $39. Contact Dale Dobbins if interested in shooting Fall League.

Start time for Monday night 3D is roughly 7:30. Cost is $6 per night. Contact - Dave Shumway.
