Dateline - Mannheim Germany
On March 26-31, 2007 ALA member Alex Wifler competed in the IFAA World Indoor Archery Championship (WIAC) in Mannheim, Germany. There were 28 countries represented and over 425 archers. Alex shot in the category Junior Male Freestyle Unlimited ages 13-16 and shot 1174 out of a possible 1200 and is now the Junior World Champion. Parents Tim & Chris accompanied Alex on this adventure and met a lot of people from around the world, including Australia, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa. While there, Alex also competed in the Luxemburg 50 meters Championship and took first place there as well.
Congratulations Alex!

Canoe Race help needed June 3
ALA has been asked to staff the Starting Line at the June 3 canoe race. This year it is not being run by the Fox Valley Park District and will be from the VFW in Batavia to the YWCA in downtown Aurora. The sponsorship changed and the race shortened to only 6 miles because of the repair work to the bridge in Batavia. Your help is needed beginning at 7 AM. Please call Dale Dobbins at (630) 464-6845 to volunteer.
Possible Bowhunter Safety Course
Please be aware that we’re thinking about offering a Bowhunter Safety Course. More information should be available at our June club meeting. Please plan on attending to learn more.
Possible Level 2 Instructor Training
Interest in Level 2 Instructor training is being gathered. If you might like to participate (no dates yet) please call Russ Kunes on his cell (630) 699-8940.
